Mercian return to Puerto de la Cruz, but this time to the RIU Garoe. Situated 300m from the Botanical Gardens, the hotel provide a courtesy bus into the town of Puerto de la Cruz approximately 1.5km away.  Here you will find plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and the Lido Martianez.

Set over four floors, there are 190 en-suite rooms, all with hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite television, telephone, mini bar, balcony or terrace and safety deposit box (payable locally).

The main restaurant serves buffet style breakfast and dinner, you can enjoy a drink on the terrace or in the lobby bar and the pool bar serves snacks.

The hotel has an outdoor heated swimming pool, you can relax on the sun terrace, where loungers, parasols and towels are complimentary.  There is an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, massage (payable locally) hairdressers and beauty salon.  There is a floodlit tennis court, squash mini golf and table tennis.

Some of the attractions in Puerto de la Cruz are the Chapel of San Telmo, the Old Customs House in the harbour, "Le Ranilla" the fortress of San Felipe, Loro Parque and Taoro Park with its modern casino.  The beautiful Botanical Gardens were founded in 1748, here you can see exotic flowers from five different continents.  There is a frequent bus service from Puerto de la Cruz linking it with towns and villages across the island.
