Kazakhstan's oil and gas industry offers a substantial range of opportunities to qualified companies.  Massive growth in activity offshore is predicted, and the onshore industry is still expanding.  The scale, timing and duration of this gowth, coupled with favourable political, economic and market access factors, mean that companies of all sizes and types should consider Kazakhstan seriously.

The Kashagan project alone is providing many US$ billion worth of opportunities over the next fews years.  Kashagan is currently the world's largest oilfield development, and its technical and environmental challenges mean that the skills UK companies have developed in the North Sea and elsewhere are in demand.  The development of the Kashagan field signals the emergence of a major new offshore province, and should be the first of many field to be developed in Kazakhstan's Caspian sector.

Kazakhstan will need to invest significant sums into its oil and gas infrastructure, for export and gas / product utilisation purposes.  The Kazakhstan-China pipeline is progressing, plans are in place to increase capacity of the CPC pipline in the near future, other pipeline projects are either underway or planned, and an oil export terminal is scheduled for shipment of offshore crude across the Caspian.
