OBTAINING A VISA FOR LIBYA

Almost all visitors to Libya require a visa, if going in on business.

The procedure is as follows:-

  1. Click here to download the Application For Visa Form.  Once completed email it to Mercian Travel
  2. Email to Mercian Travel a scanned copy of the information pages of your passport
  3. Provide a company letter stating your position in the company, the purpose and date of visiting Libya
  4. Mercian will forward the information to the appropriate authority in Libya for the granting of a Visa Authorisation
  5. On receipt of the Visa Authorisation, at that stage we will require your actual passport, the Entry Visa Application Form (supplied by Mercian) and four passport photographs
  6. Our messenger then takes all the documentation to the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, the Libyan People's Bureau in London, to obtain your visa which will be granted once the Embassy receive a copy of the Visa Authorisation from Tripoli

However, this may vary in some detail depending on the nationality of the applicant and the cost will certainly vary.  Full details can be provided upon request.

Visa On Arrival

If time is too short or under certain circumstances a visa on arrival is appropriate.  The visa application will be processed with the immigration authorities:

  1. A letter is sent by the visa authorities to the airport authorities
  2. A copy sent by the immigration to Civil Aviation Bureau who will notify the airline in writing that an entry visa has been issued and asking for the airline to give permission for the passenger to board the flight in the UK to collect their visa in Tripoli

WAHA OIL COMPANY DEVELOPING TWO NEW OIL &

GAS FIELDS IN THE SIRTE BASIN IN LIBYA

Waha Oil Comapny is planning for the development of two oil and gas fields in the Waha operated concessions - the NC-98 Field Development and North Gialo Field Development.  The projects are located in the south eastern section of Libya's Sirte Basin.

The Waha Oil Company is an operating vehicle made up of the Libyan National Oil Company (NOC) and ConocoPhillips, Marathon Oil and Hess.

The planned development for the NC-98 concession, which is a gas condensate reservoir, calls for the installation of new facilities to produce 480 Mmcf/d of gas and 80,000 boepd.

On the North Gialo, planned development calls for the installation of new facilities to produce 200 Mmcf/d of gas and 100,000 bpd of oil.  The gas is to be re-injected back into the reservoir to enhance liquid recovery.

Both NC-98 and North Gailo are grass roots developments in that there are no existing facilities at the respective plant locations.  Facilities to be installed include field gathering system, separation, liquid recovery, gas treating, refrigeration, gas compression and liquid export.

Waha Oil Company is now planning to move into the Front End Engineering Design phase for both projects.  Due to the similarities for the facilities, it is planned that the same engineering contractor will perform the FEED studies for both projects.  The future execution phase of these developments are planned to be EPC lump sum contracts.

The North Gailo and NC-98 projects will be tendered separately for the EPC phase of these works.  The chosen FEED contractor will not be eligible to apply for the EPC contracts.  The FEED contractor will be strongly considered to continue in the EPC phase as an integral part of the Waha project management team for the execution of both EPC contracts.

This solicitation of interest is for any engineering contractor interested in being considered for Bidder Pre-Qualification for the FEED scope for the above listed projects and also for other engineering services that Waha Oil Company may require.
