Ltd was founded in 1983. to provide services to the private
and public sectors based on deep understanding of the
political, commercial and cultural characteristics of
a range of foreign markets, starting from the Gulf region
(including Iraq and Iran), and including the Middle East,
the Muslim world and the former Soviet Union. It draws
on the skills and experience of its directors and some
40-50 senior consultants to offer clients an unparalleled
network of high-level contacts in both commerce and government.
Operating on a taskforce basis, it can rapidly put together teams capable
of tackling problems inside and outside its traditional area of activities: it has, for example, recently worked successfully on projects relating to Korea, China and India.
MEC’s services include business development and

major reports for government and corporate clients (recent
examples include petrodollar investment, Chinese energy
policy and business prospects in Libya), and a number
of free newsletters covering business developments in
various regions.
We specialise in problems which require creativity and
discretion and areas which are politically sensitive.
One example is Libya, where we have been active for eight
years, establishing MEC's reputation as the leading authority
on the market and advising and supporting companies entering
what can for a newcomer still be a fairly difficult environment.
Another example is due diligence inquiries, which require
great local sensitivity in many Middle East markets.

their reputations and integrity, assess a company’s
